How To Take Care of Your Eye Area With Skincare

Eye Care Routine (Day)

  1. Step 1 in Charlotte's eye care routine is to apply hydrating under eye patches

    1. Wear eye patches

Start the day by wearing a pair of under eye patches to hydrate, smooth, and brighten the look of your eye area. Eye patches are designed to feel soothing while providing supercharged skincare benefits to the skin around your eyes. They are often formulated with ingredients that can help to reduce the appearance of dark circles, eye bags, and visible signs of ageing.

My Immediate Eye Revival Patches are the perfect boosters for under the eyes – they are clinically proven to make the eye area appear rested and revived in 10 minutes! Wearing these eye patches will transform the appearance of your eye area, helping it to appear fresh like from 8 hours of blissful beauty sleep. Find 10 minutes a day to wear my Immediate Eye Revival Patches and you won’t believe the results! Wear them while you drink your coffee, brush your teeth, or do your hair… They’re non-slip, non-drip, and unlock instant red-carpet confidence!

  2. Step 2 in Charlotte's eye care routine is to apply eye serum under the eyes

    2. Apply eye serum

After removing your under-eye patches, apply an eye serum to help wake up the appearance of your eye area. Eye serums are potent serums that target common concerns around the eyes like fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of elasticity. Regularly using an eye serum in your daily skincare routine will help to energise the appearance of your eye area and keep it looking lifted and more youthful.

I created my Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum to be like an alarm clock for your eyes! It’s a cryotherapy-inspired formula with cooling ICEAWAKE™, wrinkle-targeting REPLEXIUM™, and brightening-effect caffeine that gives the eye area an instant refresh. This wake-me-up serum has a moulded metal tip that’s expertly designed to smooth around the contours of the eye, helping it to reach the most deep-set skin while giving the eye area a cooling massage.

  3. Step 3 in Charlotte's eye care routine is to gently massage the eye area with your ring finger

    3. Massage your eye area

Gently massaging the skin around your eyes can help to stimulate the eye area and make it appear more lifted. With your ring finger, lightly pat under the eyes and on the eyelids to help any residual product absorb, then softly glide your hands towards the temples to create a subtle lift effect from the outer corners of the eyes. I recommend doing this step after removing your eye patches, then again after your eye serum and moisturiser.

Tilbury Tip: I love using a facial roller or gua sha tool to massage around the eyes – they’re designed to help relieve tension, stimulate circulation, and depuff the appearance of skin.

  4. Step 5 in Charlotte's eye care routine is to apply a hydrating concealer

    4. Apply a hydrating concealer

Your eye care routine should leave your eye area feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, so the last thing you want to do is apply drying concealer that drains the life from your under eyes. Some concealers can look dry and cakey under the eyes and that’s often down to a lack of moisturising ingredients in their formula. I always recommend reaching for a hydrating concealer infused with skincare ingredients that will continue to care for your eye area – that’s why I created Charlotte’s Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer to be like a concealer and eye cream in one! This hydrating concealer is enriched with skincare powerhouses like hydrating hyaluronic acid, brightening niacinamide and Golden vitamin C; it helps to cover the appearance of dark circles while improving the look of the eye area with every wear!

Eye Care Routine (Evening)

  1. Take It All Off makeup remover to remove eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara from the eye area

    1. Remove eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara

Darlings, you would be so shocked to hear how many people don’t remove their makeup properly! Your skin needs time to breathe, so it’s crucial to remove makeup every time you wear it – no excuses! The eye area can be very sensitive so always use a gentle and effective makeup remover like Take It All Off and remember to SWIPE rather than SCRUB! Take It All Off is infused with chamomile to be soothing and kind to eyes; I like to soak a clean cotton pad in makeup remover and hold it over my eyelid for a few seconds to give the formula a chance to break down the makeup, then I use soft, swiping motions to wipe away any leftover product. Take It All Off is formulated to effortlessly remove even waterproof mascara and pigmented eyeshadows – just SHAKE, SOAK, and SWIPE!

    2. Wear eye patches

My Immediate Eye Revival Patches can be worn day or night, darlings – the choice is yours! I suggest wearing eye patches every day to help your eyes look better and brighter than ever! If you are rushing out the door in the morning you might not have time to dedicate some time to your eye patches (although, I have been known to wear them in cabs and on flights!) On busy days, wear eye patches for 10 minutes before bed to help you feel relaxed and ready for your beauty sleep.

  3. Model holding Magic Eye Rescue eye cream

    3. Apply an eye cream

At night, I like to reach for an eye cream with a rich, nourishing texture to deeply hydrate the eye area. Apply an eye cream like Magic Eye Rescue every evening, tapping it around your eye area to help rejuvenate overnight. I created Magic Eye Rescue as an SOS formula for your eye area; it’s powered by a Botanical Eye Contour Complex that’s rich in peptides to help reduce the appearance of dark circles and puffiness; Winter Daphne Stem Cell Extract to help firm and tighten the look of skin around the eyes; and Time-Released Retinol to help skin appear younger and more radiant hour-by-hour as you sleep.

91% agree eyes appear more awake and fine lines, wrinkles, and crows feet appear significantly reduced!* Leave it to absorb while you sleep and wake up to bright-eyed, fresher-looking under eyes!

Should you put moisturiser in your under eye area?

Yes – there is no harm in putting moisturiser in your under eye area. Applying eye patches, eye serums, and eye creams will give your under eye areas the hydration that they need, and they are also enriched with specific ingredients that target eye area concerns such as dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines. While I wouldn’t replace eye care with a face cream, layering one on top will only add to the skincare benefits that your under eyes are receiving.
