Who are Handle Recycling?
Handle Recycling aim to intercept empty plastic packaging within the beauty industry and stop it from going into landfill. Instead, they recycle the plastic waste so it can be used again to create new beauty accessories made from 100% recycled plastic.
What do I send my empty packaging back to Handle in?
Please securely package your empty packaging in a sealable bag or box. If possible, we suggest to re-use a bag or box you have received. Please try to make sure it's not too big.
Do I need to do anything with my empties before I return them to Handle?
Please rinse, dry and remove any labels from your empties before returning them to Handle.
What countries does Handle accept returns in?
For now, we are running our recycling initiative in the UK & US only. More countries may be added to the programme soon.
Do I have to pay to return my empty packaging?
No, Charlotte Tilbury is covering the cost of postage for you, so it is free to return your plastic skincare empties!
Can I return my empties in store?
Currently we are only accepting empties via our online process. Please do not return to store as our artists will not be able to accept them.
Where will my empty beauty packaging end up when I send it Handle?
Handle has developed a revolutionary supply-chain model working with a network of specialist partners to offer a fully transparent and traceable recycling solution for the empty beauty packaging they receive. Handle’s network is made up of NGOs, Not-for-profit, Local communities, and existing recycling infrastructure to find the most carbon-efficient, sustainable, and community positive route for all their operations. This allows them to turn your empty packaging in to new beauty products responsibly. Once Handle receives your empty beauty packaging, they will sort the materials into the correct waste stream before washing, shredding, and pelletising the materials for them to be used to make new beauty products such as their range of beauty tools made from 100% recycled plastic. The materials Handle doesn’t use to make their own products will be used to make packaging for other beauty brands.
