Having grown up in bohemian Ibiza, Charlotte quickly established a name for herself as a makeup artist in the 1990s, creating countless trends backstage at fashion shows like Prada, Miu Miu and Alexander McQueen and through editorials for the likes of LOVE, Pop and Harper’s Bazaar. She has worked on over 100 Vogue covers and is the only makeup artist to have had three simultaneous Vogue covers for the US, British and French editions in September 2011.

Charlotte has worked with everyone from supermodels like Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, Jourdan Dunn, Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer to photographers like Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott and Mario Testino, and is highly sought-after by celebrities including Amal Clooney, Sofia Vergara and Salma Hayek for red-carpet appearances. Charlotte has also lent her artistry expertise to create products for major makeup brands like MAC, Armani and Helena Rubinstein, and played a crucial role in launching Tom Ford’s first foray into makeup.

Constantly asked by people how they too could get the glow of Hollywood stars and the beauty secrets of supermodels, Charlotte set out to decode and demystify all her makeup tips and tricks, bottling her expertise into easy-to-choose and easy-to-use products. The first-ever product she launched under Charlotte Tilbury Beauty was her once-secret Magic Cream moisturiser, which was born out of necessity backstage to immediately revive and transform the look of skin for celebrities and supermodels.
