6 Tips For Wearing Colourful Makeup For Work

1. SWAP OUT YOUR FELINE FLICK
Make a statement with your eyes by swapping your usual brown or black eyeliner with a colourful kohl that will be understated enough for work, while still adding a touch of glam to your everyday look. Try Rock ‘n’ Kohl eyeliners in Midnight Blue or Velvet Violet to achieve this look.
2. BALANCE IT OUT
If you want to add a fun pop of eyeliner, then always remember to balance out your colourful makeup with a neutral lip, or if you go for a statement lipstick then keep your eye makeup minimal.
3. START OUT SAFE
If you’re not sure where to start with colourful makeup (or how much you can get away with), then start with muted colours such as dark green or purple, which tend to look fabulous on everyone! Applying a Colour Chameleon eyeshadow in Amethyst Aphrodisiac blended into your crease is a great start.
4. GO FOR A STATEMENT LIP
If bright eyeshadow isn’t your thing, a bright bold lipstick can often be easier to pull off and get away with if you work somewhere more conservative. Try a matte formula dabbed on for a ‘just bitten’ look which will give you fabulous colour with a subtle finish. If you try this look then go for a neutral eye with lashings of mascara for easy everyday glamour.
5. DESK TO DISCO
Test the makeup waters by amping up your makeup look at the end of the day, be it with a slick of gloss over a red lip, or adding intensity to your eye makeup. This mean people will get used to seeing you with a different look, making it easier to change up your makeup look everyday!
6. EXPERIMENT WITH EARTHY TONES
You may think that earthy tones aren’t exactly the neon colour pop, but this doesn’t mean they don’t add glamour to your makeup! The secret is in the shimmer. Go for a copper bronze, shimmering burgundy or forest green to add colourful yet subtle pop to your makeup.
