1. Apply mascara like a makeup artist
For the best mascara application, follow my tutorial on how to apply mascara like a makeup artist. When you carefully coat your lashes with a long-lasting mascara formula like Exagger-Eyes Volume Mascara and use tried-and-tested techniques, your lash look will last longer and wear beautifully throughout the day.
2. Let your mascara look dry down
Once you have applied your mascara, give it a chance to dry down before moving on to the rest of your makeup. Your mascara is most likely to transfer when it is wet, so give it a minute or two to dry and lock on to your lashes to help maximise wear time.
Tilbury Tip: To speed up the process, gently waft your lashes dry with a handheld fan.
3. Avoid touching your face
Touching your eyes and lashes can disrupt your mascara and cause it to flake and clump. Work quickly when applying mascara to groom your lashes into place with your mascara wand or a lash comb, then leave them be to avoid smudging it around your face with your fingers.
4. Firmly close the lid
To save your mascara formula from drying out too quickly, make sure you firmly close the lid after every application. Place your mascara wand back into the tube then twist it closed until it is airtight – this will help your mascara last longer and avoid the formula becoming flaky and dry.
